Sophie.
One of Ral Veroni’s most elaborate books. It contains
more than one hundred drawings laser-printed onto transparent
paper, creating a sequence of images that reassemble and transform
themselves with the viewer’s turn of the page. The work
contains a rich imagery from myth and the landscapes of classical
culture, alternated with the personal symbolism of the artist.
The edition avoids words; the bilingual English-Spanish colophon,
transcribed from an email, suggesting some co-ordinates with
which to begin to ‘read’ this tale told in images.
The book is contained within a gold or silver portfolio box,
with the title embossed in blue on the front. Edition of 15:

de un centenar de dibujos fueron impresos en laser sobre
papel transparente creando una secuencia de imágenes
que se articulan y transforman a medida que el espectador
recorre las páginas. La obra contiene un rico imaginario
de mitos y paisajes de la cultura clásica que se
alternan con símbolos personales del autor. La edición
evita los textos. El colofón, bilingüe inglés-castellano,
transcrito a modo de e-mail, sugiere algunas coordenadas
para poder "leer" este relato hecho en imágenes.
El libro está contenido en una caja-porfolio forrada
en dorado o en plata con el título gofrado en azul
en el frente. Edición de 15 ejemplares: 3 en Folex
